FEBRUARY

Embroidery and More Club
Second Friday of each month, starting February 8,

Have you been coming to embroidery club for a while and are ready for more advanced projects? Join us for this club. Not only will we be doing embroidery but we will use our sewing machines, sergers, etc. This club will meet on the following dates:Jenny Haskins

Sewing Club
Third Tuesday of each month for 6 months, starting February 19, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm OR 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Class Fee:

Starting in February, join the sewing club and explore your sewing machine to its fullest. This is a 6-month block of the month using multiple accessories to make a beautiful quilt. This class will meet the third Tuesday of each month, beginning on February 19, at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm OR 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The class will run through August.

 

Disappearing Nine-Patch
Saturday, February 23, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Class Fee: $30.00

If you have hesitated to buy a charm pack (5" squares) because you didn't know what to do with them this will be a happy class for you. One charm pack and border fabric is all you need to make this top. Buy two charm packs and make it larger. The cutting is already done for you - sort of! We will be slicing and dicing in class. (Advanced beginner to Intermediate)

 

Embroidery Club

Join Boo as she takes you down the path of another fun and easy jelly roll quilt class. This quilt goes together quickly and results in a 66" x 59" quilt. Great for beginners or advanced students.

Friendship Braid

This quilt is made with eight braids of 40 trapezoids using your favorite jelly roll. Instructions call for the use of a triangle ruler but I'll show how you can also use a square to cut your project.

 

Serger Class (Heirloom Quilt)

If you have a serger you will need to come to this class. You will be making an heirloom baby quilt. Learn lace insertion and how to quickly put this quilt together.

Tulip Fields

This is a great quilt to use all the small strings and crumbs of the fabrics we have bought over time. We paid for it all so let's use it all. The base of the units for these tulip blocks are string pieced and added to the flower. A solid color for the tulip make the other colors pop. If you don't have strings and crumbs, fat quarters or other small yardage of fabrics will work. Let's have fun and use our stash.

 

Modern Maze

This quilt is a fun way to show off some of your favorite fabrics. Each has a turn being the star of your quilt. Strip piecing makes this project quick and easy.

Serger Class (Lap Quilt)

Jana is still in the process of designing this serger sampler quilt. This class will be designed for the 8-thread serger. We will be using different attachments such as belt loop folder, bias binder, ruffler, and more.

 

Prairie Baskets

Remember the classic basket quilt that your grandmother made? I do! Well let's make one! These baskets are easy and fun to make. This is a fat quarter friendly project for making the baskets. You will learn to make bias strips for the basket handles and can either hand or machine appliqué them to the background.

 

Sewing Block of the Month

Join us for this machine appliqué Christmas Quilt block of the month. Class will meet the third Friday of the month from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm beginning on May 17. Pattern purchase is required for this class.

 

Opposites Attract

This is a great quilt made with three fabrics. The quilt is made of six positive and six negative blocks. This is designed for chain piecing so blocks go together fast and easy. It is nicely designed so that you can make any size quilt you would like to make. We will make a lap sized quilt in class.

 

 

JUNE

Ancient Board Games

Do you like to play board games with your children or grandchildren? Come play one with me by constructing this ancient board game in fabric. Pick a fun focal fabric and coordinate the rest of the fabrics and the hard part is done. We can even do this part for you by cutting a kit! Cutting will be done before class so we can get right on to the sewing part.

 

Grannies Goodies

From bibs to burp rags, come learn how to make cute little accessories for the newest addition to your family.

Sewing Supplies
Machine, rotary cutter, ruler, marking pencils or chalk markers, pins, scissors (fabric and paper), thread to match fabric, bobbins for machine, seam ripper

Machine Embroidery Classes
sewing supplies (listed above), prewound bobbins or bobbins wound with embroidery bobbin thread, embroidery arm, embroidery hoops, stabilizer, applique scissors, embroidery thread to match design, and 505 spray.

 

CLASS POLICIES

  • Classes MUST be paid for at time of registration
  • Classroom opens 30 minutes prior to class time

Stewart's and its educators reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Those registering for full classes will be placed on a waiting list on "first come" basis. Freelance Educators are paid directly with cash or check. If you wish to use a credit card for an educator, other than a Stewart's staff member, you will be charged a $2.00 processing fee. Classes cancelled by Stewart's or an educator will result in a full refund. Refunds will only be given to student 1 week or more prior to student canceling his/her class.
